Guide Dogs charity volunteer appeal

A CHARITY responsible for supporting blind and partially sighted people is appealing for volunteers.

Guide Dogs is launching a new awareness group in Chichester.

An information event will be held from 10.30am to 12.30pm, at St Paul’s church hall, in Churchside, Chichester, on Tuesday (October 16).

The charity is looking for a group organiser, a secretary, a trading secretary, a treasurer and group members.

Volunteer development co-ordinator Clare Burgess said: “Volunteering is so rewarding.

“There are more than 50 different roles available and there really is something to suit everyone.

“As we receive no government funding for our guide dog service, we rely on our fundraising and awareness groups to keep the service going.

“We are really excited about opening a new group in Chichester and would like to hear from anyone who feels they can help”.

Anyone interested but unable to attend can email lorna.copland@guidedogs.org.uk or call 07500 123775.
