“Broadly speaking, it is a flower and vegetable show, which is of a competitive nature, in a large marquee. Alongside that, there is a photograph competition, handicrafts and children’s work from North Mundham Primary School. We work in liaison with the school, so the work they are doing in the year, they can bring into the show.

“Then outside on the playing field, there are a number of attractions. There are things for the children to do, things for adults, an auction and vintage vehicles, including army vehicles and cars.

“The crockery smash is returning for the first time in about five years and there will be lots of homemade cakes, which are always so popular.

“It is very much a traditional village fête with mainly local people rather than commercial things.

There will be music from the George Regis Jazz Band and Nautical Training Corps cadets from TS Sturdy will be performing and playing during the afternoon.

Tim added: “The success of the show is down to all the volunteers and people who display their flowers and produce.

“It goes ahead, rain or shine, as we have enough covered areas, though some things might have to be stopped if there is a lot of rain.”
