A group of Chichester students have been chosen to perform in the opening and closing ceremonies for the London Olympics.

More than 10,000 people auditioned at the end of last year to be part of the ceremonies and eight dance students from the University of Chichester were lucky enough to be among them.

Annie McConville, Carmela Curatolo, Mitchell Hadley, Kate Whalesby, Katie Truslove, Katie Roscoe, Savaughan Fairman-Campbell and Paul Milford have all accepted their places for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in Danny Boyle’s Isles of Wonder ceremony.

Student Kate Whalesby said: “I am so excited to perform at the stadium in the summer and be a part of British history.”
