STATUS Quo band member Jackie Lynton will be bringing some rock’n’roll to Bognor Regis.

Jackie co-wrote the Quo’s 1978 hit Again and Again with Quo founder Ricky Parfitt and is a regular performer with the evergreen rockers.

He will be bringing his talents to the Newtown Sports and Social Club on April 13 in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Ian Harding, the concert’s joint organiser, said: “Jackie wasn’t able to make the last two annual Back to the 60s concerts we’ve held because of his commitments with Status Quo.

“At the time, he was on tour with them last year and then in Shepperton Studios this year when they were preparing for their current Frantic Four tour.

“He knows Bognor well – the town’s basically his second home – because I used to book him for the Rex Ballroom back in the mid-60s and he wanted to come down again and raise money for a good cause.”

Jackie has been performing through six decades and he is also a joke creator, poet and comedy writer.

In the late Seventies and early Eighties he was writing scripts for the Jim Davidson Show.

The fundraising music night at the Newtown Avenue venue will last from 8pm to midnight.

Also appearing on the bill will be The Rox Band, Bullett and Dave Hooper and Friends.

Tickets cost £6 each. They can be bought from Unique Promotions in The Arcade, GB Music on Hawthorn Road and the Newtown club.
