This is the boat which will set sail down the River Thames as part of the Cultural Olympiad, representing the stories of thousands of people.

Constructed at Thornham Marina in Thorney Island, The Boat Project – yet to be named – is made from more than 1,000 pieces of wood donated by members of the public across the south.

The boat, conceived by artists Gregg Whelan and Gary Winters, was specially commissioned and will be a living legacy, returning to the south after the Olympics.

See www.theboatproject.com for details and to vote for the vessel’s name.
