AN Olympic-themed ball has raised £28,748 for RENEW and Papworth Hospital.

Funds from Go for Gold will be shared by Chichester Festival Theatre’s redevelopment programme and research into pulmonary fibrosis.

The ball, held in Boxgrove, was organised by Mia and Christopher Tod.

Sarah Mansell, RENEW Campaigns Director, said: “To raise this sum of money is a wonderful achievement. We are immensely grateful to Mia, Christopher and their amazing team, and everyone who supported this event.” Dr Helen Parfrey, consultant respiratory physician at Papworth Hospital said: “We are extremely grateful to Mia and everyone who supported her in raising this magnificent sum and I can’t thank them enough for all their hard work and efforts on our behalf.”

Mia Tod said: “It wasn’t until my brother, Nigel, was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis that we knew of the disease.

“We were thrilled with the support we received, extremely grateful to everyone who made it possible and delighted to have the opportunity to present a substantial cheque to both Chichester Festival Theatre and Papworth.”
