After setting his sights on Joseph, Chichester’s Seamus Cullen now wants to be Jesus.

Seamus, who shot to fame a few years ago on BBC TV’s Any Dream Will Do Joseph-search show, resumes his bid for televised glory this weekend on the new talent contest Superstar.

It will be screened on ITV at 7.25pm tonight (Saturday, July 7) and 8pm tomorrow (Sunday, July 8).

Hopefuls will be effectively auditioning for the role of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Dawn French and the award-winning musical man Jason Donovan will be joining Andrew Lloyd Webber on the live show judging panel.

Since his strong showing on Any Dream Will Do, Seamus – son of Chichester district councillor Myles – enjoyed prolonged success including an acclaimed stint as Che in a national touring production of Lloyd Webber’s Evita.

Earlier this year, Seamus was teaching singing in Chichester.

An Observer competition to win singing lessons with him attracted hundreds of entries.
