A SUMMER of fund-raising events at Tuppenny Barn continues on Sunday, July 7, with an open afternoon.
All money raised will go towards completing work on the sustainable education centre at Southbourne, which is three quarters completed.
Visitors to the open afternoon will be able to tour the centre and also spend time in the grounds where attractions will include seasonal cookery demonstrations, cream teas, a ukelele band and the chance to meet the Dunreyth alpacas from Adsdean.
A selection of local craft stalls and plant sales will add further interest.
In addition to growing and selling regular supplies of organic produce, the smallholding hosts regular visits from schools where pupils learn how to grow what they eat and how a green and ethical approach can stimulate ideas and projects for their own outdoor classroom activities.
As well as providing an all-weather classroom for school group visits, the education centre will also be used by community groups and for adult and family workshops and courses.
The open afternoon will take place from 2pm until 5pm. Entry is £3 for adults, children free.
