When Australian National Security has a high tech case that cannot be cracked, it might be a chance for Jesse Banks to save himself and brother Ned from extradition.

The Code

For in the first series of The Code the pair got themselves into real hot water, facing charges in the US.

Left with no choice, Jesse (Ashley Zukerman, Terra Nova) must use his amazing computer hacking skills to uncover some dealings in the dark web.

Jan Roth (Anthony LaPaglia, Happy Feet 2) apparently hosts a hidden online bazaar of illicit weapons, drugs and dangerous ideas and the authorities want the lowdown.

Jesse and Ned (Dan Spielman, One Perfect Day) are drawn into Roth’s black world and their lives and all they love is threatened.

But Jesse has a few issues and can’t be relied on to do what he’s told, making for some nail biting moments and a sense that you never quite know what is going to happen next.

It’s a gripping series, uncovering the politics of both Australia and neighbouring Papua New Guinea and issues like freedom of speech and national security, physical violence versus the dangers of computers and cybercrime.
