TALENTED young dancers – including some who had never performed before – have been crowned winners in their first-ever competition.
Chesswood Middle School's modern dance team, featuring 14 boys and 18 girls, dazzled judges in the junior heat of Dance for Life 2008 with their performance called "Mission Impossible".

They have now gone through to the final, to be held on Saturday, July 5 at the Pavilion Theatre.

Dance teacher Charlotte Caulkin said: "This was the first competition they had taken part in and some had never danced before, so it was amazing to win and get through to the final."

The school also entered a classical team, which came runner-up in chor- eography and entertainment.
