President John Sayles and wife Doris, along with Lion Geoff Taylor from the welfare committee, also gave Lauren one of the club's very rare certificates of courage.
John said: "Lauren shortly moves to Stoke Mandeville Hospital where it is clear her determination and guts to achieve her goals will carry her through the coming months of further treatment, to adjusting to life confined to a wheelchair.
"Worthing Lions will keep in touch with Lauren and the family over the coming years, being there to help in any way they can to support this remarkable young lady achieve her various dreams."
Lauren has also met some of the players from her favourite football team.
Despite fears she would not be strong enough, Lauren made the trip to Reading FC with her family.
