THREE established traders are objecting to Montague Street's Wednesday market continuing for a further five years.
Worthing Town Centre Initiative is applying for the extension at the borough's development control committee on Tuesday, January 22, and officers are recommending approval.

Although the applicants say the extension would improve the economic performance of the town, one of the objecting traders says trade had "deteriorated substantially" over the last few years and the market looks shabby.

Another objector reports sales down by 50 per cent or more on Wednesdays, and the council should offer discounts as compensation.

A hairdressing salon in Portland Road claims the stalls between Boots and Superdrug restrict the flow of pedestrians.

What do you think?

Are you a fan of Worthing's Wednesday market?

How does it improve trading in the town?

Has it become shabby?
