Results improved across the board with many subjects achieving a 100 per cent pass rate and more than 1000 students entering A-Level exams over the summer.
Initial indications suggest the college’s A-Level pass rate for this year stands at 98.5 per cent overall.

“It is particularly positive given the increase in challenge in many of the exams following changes to the way they are assessed.
“This has placed more pressure on students being able to perform well under exam conditions.
“We are delighted that so many students achieved the success they deserve with us at Bexhill College.

The college had 1096 A Level entries this summer in 47 subjects. In all, 37 of these achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, including chemistry, biology, business studies, all three English A-Levels, further maths, economics, PE, film studies, drama, music and geography.
An additional nine subjects achieved pass rates in the high 90s.
This is a fantastic achievement for a non-selective College which prides itself on being open access and providing opportunities for students of all abilities, a spokesman said.

Hide AdThe A-Level results build on achievements from AS qualifications which are taken at the end of students’ first year, with many students at Bexhill College taking eight to ten exams over a two to three-week period.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) students also produced ‘outstanding’ results with performances exceeding the students’ target grades.
Alongside A-Levels and the IB, almost 400 students completed a range of vocational qualifications this summer.
These results have also been excellent with many students achieving distinction stars in their BTEC Extended Diplomas, including applied science, sports science, performing arts, health and social care and business studies.

These results bring another successful year for Bexhill College to a conclusion as the college continues to go from strength to strength, according to a spokesman.
“This continuing success has led to strong applications for September from young people in the area and from further afield,” the spokesman said.
“The college is looking forward to providing them with outstanding opportunities and ensuring high levels of success over the next year.”
