To tackle the issue, senior leaders and governors are taking effective action to address the areas requiring improvement identified in the Ofsted report.

“A helpful timeline ensures all staff and governors know what to focus on each month and there are clear criteria for you to measure success.”
The report published on Monday also states that subject leaders for English and mathematics have a better understanding of their role because leadership meetings focus more closely on school improvement.
Other key areas of improvement highlighted by Ofsted included, a new scheme to teach letters and sounds; a mathematics challenge board to motivate pupils; and improvement in the quality of feedback to pupils.
