This is the third year pupils took part in the Ready Steady Read and Listen Challenge, which was organised by Amanda and coordinated by Woodlands Meed’s assistant head Martin Woods.
Children raised £650 through their sponsored read and listen in April and Usborne added 60 per cent, leaving them with £1,040 to spend.

He said it was ‘amazing’ to be able to choose the books that would enhance children’s learning and nurture a love of reading.
“We are so proud of the fantastic reading and listening the children did during our Book Week to help achieve this,” added Martin.
