Review: From frizzy to fabulous at Trevor Sorbie Brighton
With this new mindful attitude to my Barnet I rocked up to Trevor Sorbie, an award-winning salon in The Lanes.
There are few things nicer to do than have a top-class treatment on a Friday afternoon, ready for the weekend.

Hide AdI'd thought I'd give my locks some light relief by holding the colour, and instead opting for a moisturising treatment and a voluminous blow-dry.
My hair has always been fine, flat and easily tangled, and somehow manages to frizz, so I look on enviously at those with big, bouncy hair.
I arrived at the salon tucked away in Nile Street, and was greeted by the bustle of a busy and obviously popular hairdressers.
It is one of five salons run by celebrated hairdresser Trevor Sorbie, and it had a buzzing and friendly atmosphere, with a hint of luxury.

Hide AdAfter being greeted and offered a drink, I met the stylist who would be tackling my unruly hair.
I was in the good hands of senior top stylist Pete, who asked me about my hair care regime, and what I wanted to get out of the treatment and blow dry.
The salon uses a range of Kérastase Fusio-Dose hair treatments which can be tailored to a client's needs, and I wanted something that would inject a bit of moisture to my locks giving it a healthy sheen, after suffering from years of bleach and battles with a tangle teaser.
After a hair wash, the Kérastase concoction was applied, and I was treated to a head massage while the treatment got to work.

Hide AdFeeling truly pampered after the treatment, Pete got to work on the blow dry.
He used a range of Kérastase products including the Elixir Ultime spray which is a nourishing oil mist to help add volume to fine hair, Densifique Mousse which gives hair more bounce and density, and a much-needed volume boosting spray.
Drying the hair with a round brush (I've never got used to using to use at home), Pete then curled the hair up into clips to set the style, all the while explaining what he was doing so I could try to recreate the look at home.
After a generous helping of holding spray, Pete unfurled the curls, to reveal glossy, bouncy locks.

Hide AdI couldn't believe how healthy my hair looked thanks to the treatment, or how much volume the blow dry had added.
I was chuffed with the results, and as someone who has never gone to a salon for just a blow dry, I would thoroughly recommend it for special events such as weddings, proms or parties.
It's funny how you can never recreate the magic they weave in the salon (trust me I've tried), so it's perfect for a special treat.
Blow dry prices start from £35, and Kérastase Fusio-Dose hair treatments from £12.
