A night at the museum in West Sussex
Petworth House, the Novium and Fishbourne Roman Palace are among the West Sussex attractions taking part and throwing their doors open for a late-night history tour as part of the national Museums at Night event.

One of its knowledgeable team will take you on an entertaining tour covering all aspects including the Roman history and Georgian rediscovery as well as some modern day insights into this one of the largest Roman Villas open to the public boasting some of the finest mosaics in Great Britain.

A talk is taking place entitled Kitaj as Printmaker. Jennifer Ramkalawon, curator of prints and drawings at the British Museum. discusses Kitaj’s bright, bold early prints which are full of kaleidoscopic imagery, displaying to great effect of the artist’s major obsessions.

The past will be brought to life with guided walks through the museum will stop at some of our houses to discover how the people who lived there in the past would have experienced the hours of dusk and darkness. The evening will end with hot drinks and biscuits round the fire in one of our historic houses.

Time Machine Museum, East Ashling
