Art club contest goes to the wire as visitors vote
Around 120 paintings are on display in the South Hall at Lancing Parish Hall, in South Street, Lancing, until 8pm today and from 10am to 3.30pm tomorrow.
Votes can be cast for the favourite picture and the most original painting.

Hide AdAssistant exhibition secretary Eve Wilson said: “People’s choice has been hugely varied and at this stage, there is no clear winner. Three or four are neck and neck, while other paintings have received one vote each.
“We want as many people as possible to come and air their views by voting.”
Members, meanwhile, will be voting for the winner of the Ron Polwin Award, which this year has the theme ‘soft’.
There were entries from most members in a variety of styles, including roses drawn in pencil, a tapestry of a ship, a mother and baby, and a tiger, called Fierce and Soft, and they have all be hung together on two stands.

Hide AdEve said there had been a good number of visitors, with the opening on Saturday proving particularly busy.
“People are admiring our big collaborative picture and seeming to like the way our exhibition looks,” she added.
The club has members from Worthing to Shoreham, though the majority live in Lancing. They have been working together on the big piece, which brings together 20 separate pictures, framed and mounted together to illustrate key scenes from Worthing to Southwick.
