Artworks by a master forger on show in Sussex
Max Brandrett - dubbed Max The Forger - now concentrates on what he calls ‘fake but legit’ works, examples of which are now on show at Unit 52 - the former Barnado’s shop - in The Martlets, Burgess Hill.
The venue itself is fitting as 70-year-old Max grew up in a Barnado’s home before he started work as an animal helper in a circus, later turning his hand to signwriting and, ultimately, painting.
