Broadwater "prison" rejected
Worthing Council's planning committee voted unanimously on Tuesday to reject Churchill Homes' application for a development in Charmandean Road after scathing criticisms of the scheme's design.
The plans are the fourth application in three years by the developers, with a previous bid the subject of a public inquiry pending the result of this application.

Hide AdAlthough the principle of development on the site has been agreed, the committee slammed the proposed appearance of the buildings.
Lib Dem James Doyle criticised the three-storey development's "institution"-like frontage and said the developers "have failed completely".
