Children pay their respects to war dead

Pupils from a number of local schools kneeled to plant wooden crosses with poppies on graves at the Heroes Corner section of the cemetery.
Members of the Royal British Legion and the Hastings and St Leonards Veterans Association presented colours during an address by the Reverend Robert Featherstone. Attending the ceremony was Hastings Mayor Cllr Judy Rogers.

Hide AdThe ceremony takes place in October each year ahead of the Remembrance Day services and parades in November.
On Friday, in Hastings, events were held to raise money for the armed forces charity SSAFA, including a ‘Big Brew-Up’.
