On February 11, Alexander Berry, 21, from Dorking, was jailed for two years for a hit-and-run collision in Cranleigh that left a 48-year-old woman with life-changing injuries. Police said he was speeding on the wrong side of the road when it happened and narrowly missed her children.

On February 11, Ewing Gilmour, 21, of Sparshott Road, Selsey, was jailed for seven years for trying to rape a teenage girl in an alleyway between Manor Road and Manor Lane in Selsey. The court heard how he had offered her £100 for sex and stalked her to the alley after she declined.

On March 18, Fabrizio Indovino, 43, a residential care worker from Denne Parade, Horsham, was jailed for almost four years for setting fire to a house in Laughton Road, Horsham and causing £88,000 of damage. Luckily, the occupant - a woman and her two children - were not at home.

Gareth Cooper, 38, unemployed, of Cloudesley Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to four burglaries, one robbery and a theft after befriending elderly and vulnerable victims to steal from them. He was sentenced to six years' in prison on Thursday, May 14.
