The special event, which was held at the fire station on West Meads Drive, was an opportunity for people to get a rare peek behind the scenes of their local station, get a closer look at all the emergency appliances and chat informally to the local crews about a range of fire and road safety issues.
Bognor firefighters were joined on the day by 999 colleagues from Sussex Police and the Red Cross and with appliances, both old and new.

Hide AdStaff from the Sussex Resilience Forum and Arun District Counil also took a full part in the day.
Jon Etherington, watch manager at Bognor Fire Station who organised the day, said: “We’d just like to thank all those people who came along to the open day on Saturday.
“It was wonderful to welcome so many people. Ordinarily, the only time people see their local fire crew is in an emergency situation, so this was a great way for people to find out more about the work we do and pick up some safety tips in a fun and informal environment.”
