East Preston pupils offer Gary Barlow £10 to visit school
Hopeful year-three pupils at East Preston Junior School are eagerly waiting a reply from the singer and former X Factor judge following an appeal on the celeb’s social networking accounts.
They have laid on an enticing offer for vocalist Gary – by pledging to give him the remaining £10 from their class’s £30 prize for top attendance as payment if the singer was to visit the school, in Lashmar Road.

The idea was the brainchild of teaching assistant Rachel Highfield, who launched the light-hearted appeal last Wednesday.
She said: “It’s just gone mad really. I can’t believe it. I never thought that it would have got the response that it did.”
The idea was sparked during a classroom debate on how to spend the cash.

“I’m not totally sure the children quite understand how much £30 will get them!” added Rachel.
“The children are hopeful that he will come to school for £10. They are really excited and if he does, they are asking what song he would sing. But we are trying to let them know that this might not happen. The whole thing has been really endearing.”
There has been no formal word from Gary.
