Several fire engines and ambulances were sent to the scene in Upper Dukes Drive, near the Kiosk cafe.
Crews were responding to reports a person had slipped, fallen, and injured their arm while walking on the downs nearby, according to South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

Hide AdThanks to the efforts of emergency teams, the individual was recovered and taken by road to hospital, SECAmb said.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to assist the ambulance service with an incident there.
A technical rescue unit from Battle, rope rescue from Bexhill and firefighters from Eastbourne attended the scene.
