Over in the grotto, Father Christmas will not only be giving each child a present, but also a packet of reindeer dust, to sprinkle in their garden, so that the reindeer passing overhead on Christmas night know where to visit. There is a charge of £2.50.
DJs Studio 1 will be the comperes for the entertainment programme, featuring Celebration Samba, Karen and Steve, of Collage, Littlehampton Ukulele Jam, the Bamboo Band, performing Christmas calypso numbers, the Sussex Tornados cheerleading troupe and Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society, with excerpts from its panto, Mother Goose.
The carnival’s ‘royals’, led by Carnival Queen Mariah Lee, will be out and about, together with mascot Hampton the hedgehog, and committee members wearing festive costumes, as will be many traders.
