Gurkhas in Bexhill
The restaurant is run by Purna K.C and Raju Shah, who commented: "It was a really good evening. We are very pleased. We had a good response from the public, and they say they like it here - it is nice and cosy."
The Gurkhas was opened in Bexhill because of customer demand - Raju was working in a Nepalese restaurant in St Leonards and remembers that many of the regulars were from Bexhill.

"This is new for Bexhill - our food is a little different. It has like a fusion between Indian and Thai and Chinese. It is healthy food - we use all fresh vegetables and fresh ingredients."
Nepalese cuisine is known for being delicious and mild, with less heat and more subtlety, using a combination of mountain herbs and spice. The flavours are typified by ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, and green chillies topped with mustard seeds.
"We cook with little oil," said Raju, who also worked previously in a restaurant in Hythe, Kent.
"It has a lighter clear flavour."
