Hand Hygiene Cup for Richard Ticehurst Unit
The unit, which deals with short-stay and day surgery at the Conquest Hospital, were recognised for their excellence in infection control.
They have undertaken teaching sessions and raised awareness among all staff of the importance of hand hygiene.

Hide AdPart of this was done using a 'Glow-and-Tell' machine, which highlights deficiencies in hand hygiene using ultra-violet light.
Anna-Marie Hargreaves, infection control nurse, said: "The unit works closely with the infection control link facilitator in supporting and encouraging staff to challenge poor compliance.
"They also undertake hand hygiene audits consistently to monitor staff in this area. This good team effort should be acknowledged."
The Hand Hygiene Champion Cup was introduced by the trust to recognise exemplary performance in hand hygiene and promote healthy competition between wards to improve infection control.
