Henfield hosts cracking Christmas celebration
All along the High Street there were charity fundraising stalls, traders in fancy dress and local produce displays.
Henfield Enterprise chairman Mike Beardall said: “We were lucky with the weather and there was a great atmosphere in the High Street, with record numbers of people out celebrating.”

Hide AdSanta’s sleigh (courtesy of the BP Guild) was in the centre of the village and Santa was in his grotto nearby in the bus shelter, run by Henfield Youth Club.
Shops were open with refreshments for customers and various food and charity stalls, including Friends of St. Barnabas House, with carol singing and music by Children’s Society supporters.
Nigel Fitzsimmons, Town Centres officer for Horsham District Council, and Tony Jackson, Henfield Community Partnership chairman, awarded certificates for best shop window displays.
Winners were: White Mischief (best use of colour), Hamfelds (best use of space), Henfield Furnishings (best theme) and Bay Tree Trading (best lighting).
Mike said: “Our thanks to all the traders and volunteers who made the evening so successful and provided entertainment and food.”
