Herald and Gazette Pub of the Year winners revealed
A framed certificate was presented to the pub, in Broadwater Street East, on Monday.
Runner-up in the competitioon was The Castle Inn Hotel, in The Street, Bramber, with The Piston Broke, in High Street, Shoreham, in third place.

Hide AdYe Old House at Home has been run by Marco and Elaine Perretta since February last year.
Elaine said: “I have worked here for nine years. I started in 2006, in the kitchen, and it progressed from there.
“We have some amazing regulars, some of them have been coming in for 30 years. It has seen a lot of changes over the years but it is settled now.
“This is a brilliant pub. I have some good staff and they are my back-up. It is friendly, cosy and warm. The food is amazing, too.

Hide Ad“A lot of people don’t know we are here but we always have events going on, like music nights, so we do get new customers coming in.”
Shankly, her labrador, is the pub dog and popular with customers. “He is part of the furniture,” added Elaine.
She and Marco are planning a big party on February 3 next year to celebrate their second anniversary at the pub.
She said the Pub of the Year prize meant a lot the them.
“It is hard work but to get this prize is the icing on the cake,” said Elaine.
