FLOWER FESTIVAL: Doesn’t time creep up on us? No mention of the C word, but autumn events are coming in fast and furious. Not far away, for instance is the Flower Festival at St Margaret’s parish church in Isfield, organised by Friends of St Margaret’s, over the weekend of October 8 Saturday 11am to 4 pm; Sunday after the Harvest Festival Service (10am) until 2pm. No entry fees, although donations welcome. Refreshments available. More details from Cariena Cartwright on 01825 750749.
SCHHHHHH: Isfield’s Wednesday Club, set up to arrange interesting talks and social events for the over-55s, has come up with an interesting programme of events for the coming months. Next on the list, for the afternoon on October 5, is a talk by Gilly Halcrow on Special Operations Executive - Churchill’s Secret Army. Meetings in Isfield Village Hall start at 2.30pm on alternate Wednesdays and round off with tea and home-made cakes that are Mmmm. Further details from Liz Fine on 01825 750658.
