Housing scheme dismay
Unless the people of Pulborough are prepared to get involved and strongly oppose this application, this scourge which is destroying our village life and communities will continue at a pace.
Horsham District Council Planning Committee appears powerless against these developers showing yet again a lack of judgement to the damage being done to existing services and infrastructure. Who can forget the “Core Strategy Review Consultation” document?

Hide AdThe argument that these houses are for local people has long since been discredited.
In this climate of high unemployment and cut backs the last thing that’s needed is an increase in the population putting further pressure on services and roads which are already under severe strain, and likely to be for the foreseeable future.
Unfortunately this is becoming the norm in our region and unless something is done it will continue unabated. It’s become blindingly obvious that HDC planning committee is focused solely on meeting targets rather than protecting the rural countryside and meeting the needs of local communities.
In the first instance letters to the Parish Council opposing this application is a step in the right direction but what can be done which will help prevent these mass urbanisations from taking place in the future.

Hide AdIt is commendable that individual action groups have emerged to voice their concerns; unfortunately they appear to have little impact on the outcome.
I firmly believe that to form a group which represents the whole village against these developers would be a far better way of fighting off these applications. Of course having people with the necessary skills would be ideal but in any event having a focused group would be a step forward in counteracting these planning applications.
So I appeal to the people of Pulborough who feel they can contribute in putting a stop to this mass urbanization of our village.
