The car was displaying a blue badge on the dashboard and had parked in South Street close to the Market Cross – in an area for buses and unloading lorries only – about 11am yesterday (July 2).
The car was parked close behind an unloading bay for two lorries, which already had a Loomis UK lorry parked in the front half of the space. When a TNT lorry arrived and tried to park in the back half of the space, the proximity of the car meant it was caught by the lorry.

With the road now blocked and queues lengthening, the Loomis driver was located who pulled his lorry forward, allowing the TNT driver to move forward into the space and unblock in the road. However in the process the car’s bumper was pulled away.
Afterwards, the car was slapped with a PCNfor having parked illegally.
