Former Felpham Community College student Jordan, 18, is studying for a Btec at Northbrook College. She will follow this by crossing the Atlantic next summer if she can raise some £20,000 for her first of two years in New York.
This is after she was awarded a £12,000 scholarship. She is working in Tesco at weekends and has asked businesses to help her as well as planning a sponsored skydive next March.
Her stepfather and brother will be holding a sponsored golf day for her next June.
