Man charged with possessing an air rifle at Gatwick Airport
Jerome Chauris, from Vendôme, France, has been charged with possessing a dangerous article in any part of an aerodrome after an air rifle weapon was found by police in the airport’s North Terminal in the morning.
The unemployed 41-year-old was also charged with possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

Hide AdMr Chauris has been charged under the Aviation Security Act 1982 and Criminal Justice Act 1988 for the respective offences.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning (November 16).
Police were called at around 9.30am on Saturday morning (November 14) following suspicious actions by a man who discarded an item at the airport. The terminal was evacuated while police and bomb disposal units swept the airport.
