Mayor speaks up for town's young citizens
That's the view of the Peacehaven Mayor, Cllr Ian Buchanan, who spoke to East Sussex County Council chairman Bob Lacey when he toured the town last week.
Cllr Lacey visited Peacehaven to see where the county council provided services and find out what improvements were needed. The visit included the Meridian Shopping Centre, Peacehaven Library, the Joff Youth Centre and the Haven Families Centre.

'If we can highlight some areas where improvement is needed then the chairman will have seen at first hand the issue and will be able to comment when it is raised at committee or council.'
Of the Meridian Centre, Cllr Lacey said he was able to see how the centre was in need of refurbishment and was told about planned improvements.
He was also informed of renovations to be carried out at the Joffs and talked to Sergeant Robin Fuller about police concerns for the area.

Hide AdCllr Buchanan said: 'The Joff is one area where improvements could be made to help with the youth issues in the town.
'A town of the size of Peacehaven needs a place for the young people to go to feel part of something and to speak to peers.
'If we could get a cyber caf, or a youth caf for the youth they may start to believe that they are being listened to.'
