Hide AdCh Insp Phelps said there will be no cuts to resources and assured those concerns that little will change.
“While I can appreciate there may be concerns I can reassure the public that it will be business as usual, there will be no loss of resources in either area and wards will still have an allocated point of contact,” he said.
“This combining of resources is purely operational, so there are no immediate plans to alter the way the public get in touch with us.
“We will continue to serve and protect the public.”
Rother commander Warren Franklin has been promoted to the rank of temporary superintendent overseeing neighbourhood policing operations and activities across East Sussex.
