New warning on town centre parking meters
Rother council leader leader Graham Gubby said he was 'under pressure' from East Sussex County Council to charge for parking.
Cllr Gubby said he would fight any such move but warned residents they should be concerned about the prospect of on-street meters.

Cllr Gubby said Bexhill had more spaces than ever before, with trade and residents benefiting from free parking.
He said: "The thing you really have got to worry about is that we are the only authority that does not have a street parking charge.
"Be under no illusions, the county council is putting a lot of pressure on me to go for decriminalised parking because they want the money used on public transport.
"I don't want parking meters and I don't want people to pay 60p before they go for a loaf of bread even."
