In another book, the ‘Great European Rip-Off’ by David Craig, the author estimates the total cost to Britain of the EU, to be £118 billion a year. Surely that far outweighs any benefit obtainable from being in the Customs Union, particularly since our exports to the Single Market (as a percentage) have been in decline for many years.
