Councillors told to be 'very proud' of Midhurst skatepark
Speaking at a full council meeting on Monday night, councillor Steve Morley said: “For those who haven’t yet seen [the skatepark], it is quite incredible just how many people there are there, and over the last couple of days there have been people running around like Cinderella with a broom so they are obviously taking it very seriously which is great to see.
“The council can be very, very proud of what it has achieved over there. I would like to thank Gordon McAra for all he has done in finding the funding for that.”

Fencing around the site was removed for health and safety reasons but under the current lockdown guidelines the skatepark is not open until March 29.
The cost of the skatepark came to just under £150,000. £96,000 came from the town council’s own reserves which have been saved over the past three years. £40,000 came from
Community Infrastructure Levys (CIL) taken from the South Downs National Park developments and £15,000 came from Chichester District Council.
Cllr Gordon McAra said: “It came as a straightforward grant which I am very grateful for.”
