There are so many breeds to choose from when considering welcoming a new furry friend into your home, so why not opt for a rescue dog?
Each of these dogs at Arundawn Dog Rescue are looking for a home – including a litter of adorable puppies, a Saluki and some Spaniels.
If you are interested in adopting one of them, visit the rescue’s website and complete a pre-application form.
All information and photos come from Arundawn.
1. Barney - three year old Spaniel
Barney is looking for a foster carer, ideally with a view to adopt him. Arundawn Dog Rescue said he is a young and active Springer cross Cocker Spaniel, with a strong 'working' drive. He may be a failed working dog or just has a massive natural instinct, so he will need a very active home and would enjoy taking part in agility, obedient or scent training. He is good with other dogs but cannot live with cats or children. Photo: Arundawn
2. Puppies - Crossbreed
These four puppies were born at the rescue after a heavily pregnant dog was handed in. They are now about 10 weeks old and will be able to leave for their new homes at the beginning of April. They will be fully vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and with a neutering agreement in place. Arundawn said they have started showing their personalities and are 'great time wasters'. They will likely be small and are mixed breeds, with their mum being a Cavapoo and their dad possibly being a Terrier mix. Photo: Arundawn
3. Meala - two year old Spaniel
Meala is another Spaniel who is urgently looking for a foster carer with view to adopt. Arundawn said she walks beautifully on the lead, and is good out with other dogs, but she does not like dogs in her home. She is 'adorable with people' and loves everyone. She also has separation anxiety, so her new owner will need to be around often and be committed to working on easing her fears. Meala has been in foster for the rescue a whie but she is not happy with the other older dog she is sharing the home with. Photo: Arundawn
4. Poodley Doodley/Madam Doodle - four years old
Madam Doodle is a poodle crossbreed. She has been described as being 'loving and bonkers', despite being skittish and shy. She is very clever and has a 'multitude of personalities'. A family with the time and patience to help her build her trust and confidence is essential. She would love a big garden to run around in, and must have at least one other canine playmate. She cannot live with young children, cats or small animals. Photo: Arundawn
