Eastbourne gym to hold midnight exercise class to celebrate the easing of lockdown
Following the latest government announcement, the outdoor gym will be able to open on March 29 along with other outdoor sport facilities. Classes will be limited to five clients and a trainer in line with the rule of six.
Cargo Gym was created by Eastbourne residents Nic and Sam Parish during the governments lockdown with a goal to make exercise available for everyone.

Hide AdNic said: “The idea originally started as joke, but we soon realised there was actually some serious interest in such a class.
“The class will begin at 00:01 at the Saffrons Sports Park where the gym is based with the class lasting 45 minutes, the class is limited to five spaces per the regulations. There will be music and disco lighting to accompany the class.
Sam said: “We want to create a community that encourages each other and makes exercise enjoyable and everyone.”
Sam says exercise has played such an important part in his life and he was delighted to have the opportunity to start his own gym at the age of 20. He says he is pleased to be able to share the benefits of exercise with others.

Hide AdNic said: “Lockdown has shown just how important exercise is not only for your physical but also mental health and exercising in a small group outside only adds to these benefits with increased Vitamin D, reduced stress and improved self-esteem.
“You can even burn up to seven percent more calories outside.”
Sam was also keen to mention the benefits to the environment, with your average gym treadmill using 700 watts during your workout.
