Local NHS staff rank East Surrey Hospital ‘among best in country’

The hospital - which treats patients from Crawley and Horsham as well as those in Surrey - is run by the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
And in a survey of national health employees, trust staff rated the organisation fourth best acute trust in the country when asked if they would recommend it as a place to work.

Hide AdSASH also scored highest nationally for staff stating they look forward to coming to work.
And it was again ranked among the highest scores in the country when staff were asked whether care of patients is the organisation’s top priority.
Staff feedback was among the top scores nationally in the themes of staff engagement, safety culture and team work.
Trust chief executive Michael Wilson said: “I am very proud that our staff rate us among the best in the country.

“We’ve worked hard to support our colleagues throughout the pandemic but we know just how tough it has been.
“That’s why staff welfare is a key priority for us in the months ahead and we will use the results of this survey to make more improvements for our wonderful colleagues.”
As well as running East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust provides a range of services at hospitals in Crawley, Horsham, Caterham and at some Surrey health centres.

The trust employs 4,946 staff and has an annual budget of around £334m.
