People in Horsham reacted with joy after news broke that the Government funded pop-up lane – which was estimated to cost more than £14,000 – would be removed.
On the County Times Facebook page Samantha Ritchie said: “[It] has been a terrible waste of money and caused so many problems on roads round Horsham.
“I ride a bike but I’m glad to see it going.”

Hide AdArt Mather said it was ‘about time’ and Sian Kearney slammed the lane as an ‘absolute joke’.
The lane currently runs northbound from the Worthing Road roundabout to the Madeira Avenue roundabout.
The scheme came under fire from furious drivers who said the lane causes traffic delays and is hardly used.
Last week the aftermath of a crash sparked fresh calls to axe the lane after a cyclist said he feared someone could be killed.
Today, November 3, the county council announced plans to remove all the pop-up cycle ways in West Sussex.
The Cabinet Member decisions are subject to the usual call-in period.
