Poundland at Hastings and Bexhill to offer Mother’s Day bouquets for £1 to beat Brexit
The flowers in the bouquet are not real - but faux tulips, which the chain claims is on trend, with similar bunches of faux flowers selling for as much as £25 a bouquet.
Poundland says it is also reacting to fears that 22,000 varieties of imported fresh flowers may be affected by Brexit.

Hide AdPoundland’s Gift Buyer Frances O’Sullivan said: “Brexit will affect all businesses differently and we need to be prepared. Whatever the effects of the recent Brexit votes, we want our customers to carry on as normal.”
The retailer has reported a doubling of artificial flower sales (224 per cent) in the first quarter of 2019 versus the same period last year
Claiming to have seen a 224% increase in like for like faux flower sales, Poundland says is expecting to sell out before Mother’s Day.
In 2018, Mother’s Day flower spending reached £600 million in the UK.
