£1m expansion agreed for Worthing Lidl
In a statement to the development control committee, Lidl said: "The store is over-trading at about 60 per cent above the Lidl company average.
"Given the over-trading and the limited existing sales area, there is a clear need to extend the current store."

The extension will comprise a new warehouse on the south side together with a front extension, increasing the sales area by 197sqm.
There will be 64 car parking places, two fewer than at present.
Lidl's statement also said deep discount stores provide a limited product range, and "this type of food retail has a negligible impact on either corner or major supermarkets, due to the range of items/services that cannot be purchased in the store".
