Nevertheless, the Royal British Legion's Spring Fair at Little Common still managed to raise a whopping 806 and, Chairman Gill Masterton said it's all thanks to the support they receive from the people who regularly attend their events.
She said: " The weather was not in our favour today but our regulars always come no matter what. We have a good relationship with the local people and they really do support us."

Hide AdThere was an additional bonus of 100 which, treasurer Maureen Bunclark said, had been kindly donated anonymously adding: "We were surprised because, despite there being so few people today, we did very well."
One benefit for the few that attended, was that they were able to browse at their hearts content, and take their pick from the many stalls offering jewellery, books, videos, plants, bric a brac, toys, and homemade cakes and jams.
And, along with the popular raffle and tombola stalls there was the opportunity to guess the name of a cuddly gorilla aptly named 'Cuddles' for the day; teas coffees and cakes were also served.
