They were eight-year-old Jacob Chapman, and Jaidan Perna and Matthew Sowden, both aged nine.
The boys heard at school about the problems faced by several families who lost their homes during a fire in the Mathare Valley in Kenya.

She will now be taking the £124 raised by the boys, as Jacob’s mum Jo Webster, of Bolebrook Road, told the Observer.
She said: “I was really impressed. Jacob came home and got on the phone and rang up all his family to get sponsors.
“ I am sure the other boys did as well. Then on the day we had a bucket as well and came up with a total of £124. I was amazed.”
