Skate Park funding hope
The application is the result of many months preparation by the council, working with other interested parties to ensure the bid has the best chance of success.
The cost of the project is about 86,000 of which 65 per cent is eligible for lottery funding.

Hide AdThe balance includes 10,000 from Lewes District Council and 10,000 from two Home Office grants, with the remaining 10,000 being sought from other sponsorship.
The council has worked on the project with the skateboard action group SK8, which is made up of young people in the district, to ensure the design and location of the skate park is what they want and need.
Cllr Elizabeth Lee, Cabinet member for community issues, said: 'It has taken time to put together a good funding application and I am confident that we will have given ours the best chance of success by working in partnership with SK8, Sussex Police, Lewes Town Council and private partners.'
Subject to funding, the council will begin work on the project in the early summer of next year.
