Three Rye RNLI lifeboat crew members injured
Three Rye RNLI lifeboat volunteers after recovering from injuries today (Friday, May 8) following an accident in the early hours of this morning.
The lifeboat was launched at 1am to reports of a person calling for help in the River Rother Rock Channel.
However, on the way to the casualty the lifeboat hit a ‘submerged unlit object’ which resulted in three of the crew being injured.

Hide AdA spokesman for the RNLI said: “We wish them all the best and a swift recovery.”
The crew members are thought to be recovering at home and in hospital today.
The original casualty was attended by Coastguard rescue and an RAF helicopter.
